From break-out British sensation Andrew Haigh (director of the tender and unexpected romance Weekend) comes his latest powerful study of relationships which won Edinburgh International Film Festival’s top award for best British feature film.

Kate (Charlotte Rampling) and husband Geoff (Tom Courtenay) are busily preparing for their 45th wedding anniversary celebrations until they suddenly receive life-changing news relating to an incident that occurred fifty years ago. The discovery creates a schism between the married couple, one fuelled by insecurities, long-buried memories and regret.

With painfully astute insight, Haigh critically captures the internal dissolution of their relationship as the perfect veneer of their life together hides what is really going on underneath. 45 Years tells the story of a relationship thrown into turmoil, and begs the question; can their long-standing love for each other survive a bitter truth which lies in the past?
